POINT INFO TOURISME-MEDIATHEQUE FORMIGUERES

The Tourist Information Point and its Media Library - multimedia - adult and child relaxation reception, are located in the centre of the mountain village with a family winter sports resort, nestled in the heart of a preserved natural heritage. The village retains the memory of its history with its old stone houses with heavy roofs of "Lloses" rounded. Former capital of the Capcir, its Romanesque church and tympanum bell tower was consecrated in 873 and houses a magnificent 11th century Christ. The Kings of Majorca (12th and 13th centuries) appreciated Formiguères for the coolness of its summers and the beauty of the Camporells lakes. King Sanche d'Aragon had established his summer residence there.
