EGLISE SAINTE MARIE DE L'ASSOMPTION

The church of Palau-del-Vidre occupies a former hall of the town's castle. It has an atypical floor plan and is especially interesting for its Gothic altarpieces, dating from the 15th century: The Altarpiece of Saint Michael and Saint Hippolyte (by the Catalan artist Arnaud Gassies) and The Altarpiece of Saint John the Evangelist (an anonymous work inspired by the style of the preceding altarpiece).
